During the Paris 2024 Gamesthe Rochelais skipper Clement Pequin will represent France and the department of Charente-Maritime.
Last March, he won the world champion title with Erwan Fischer.
With this world champion title, he won his ticket to the Paris Games where he hopes to win the gold medal. It will be aligned in the 49er category sailing. The sailing events in the category will take place between July 28 and August 1 in Marseille.
A former resident of La Rochelle Nautique
Clément Péquin practiced sailing at the La Rochelle nautical center of the Société des Régates Rochelaises, now renamed La Rochelle Nautique. Accustomed to solo races, he switched to crew races a few years ago.
With his helmsman, Erwann Fischer, originally from La Baule (Loire-Atlantique), they became the first French people to be titled world champions in this category. A result that is enough to make you dream a few months before the Games.
