This Thursday evening, Rima Hassan, Mathilde Panot and Idir Boumertit will give a meeting in Vénissieux.

But a few hours before the France Insoumise event, the walls of the Irène Joliot-Curie room were tagged.

According to our information, registrations targeting the deputy for the 14th constituency of Rhône were made during the night.

“Idir Boumertit, get out of there, the Minguettes don’t want you” or even a play on words “Boumerd tit” were written in black spray paint.

A request was made to the town hall of Vénissieux to have the tags removed before the public meeting which will begin at 7 p.m. with the jurist and pro-Palestinian activist, as well as the president of the LFI group at the National Assembly.

This action comes in a tense political context in Vénissieux, where Idir Boumertit, still a member of the majority of PCF mayor Michèle Picard, is gaining prominence locally. A preparation for the 2026 electoral deadlines that not everyone sees favorably in the third city of the Lyon metropolitan area.
