Paris: a woman sexually assaulted on the train at Lyon station

Bad encounter for this woman on her way to Paris. An Iraqi national, aged 27, was arrested on Tuesday evening at Lyon station (12th arrondissement), by agents of the railway network brigade. He is suspected of having sexually assaulted a 44-year-old woman on a train from Zurich (Switzerland).

Around 10:45 p.m., the forty-year-old uttered screams which alerted witnesses and the police at lane number 7. She pointed out a man exhibiting abnormal behavior who was chasing her and had just touched her. The victim says she is coming to spend a week’s vacation in Paris. On the train, she was sitting in a square of four seats when a stranger sat in front of her. She noticed that this strange traveler was masturbating by rubbing his pants while handling his phone. “She would not know if he was filming her or if he was watching a video,” specifies a Source close to the case.

Embarrassed, she decided to change places as the train arrived at the station. The man allegedly followed him while continuing to rub his crotch with his hand. She fled towards the exit, pursued by the pervert who rushed at her with his fly open. Witnesses, alerted by this lady’s cries of distress, intervened and warned the soldiers of the sentinel mission.

The soldiers subdued the man before handing him over to law enforcement. The suspect in an irregular situation was placed in police custody at the 12th arrondissement police station. He was to be interviewed on Wednesday and meet a psychiatrist.
