Saint-Paul-des-Landes. The art of embroidery by Nathalie Garnier. “In my youth I made canvas. My job allowed me to have free afternoons, so the saleswoman from whom I bought my supplies suggested that I try cross-stitch embroidery. I started small, then one thing led to another and I made it more complicated and embroidery became my passion.”

A shared passion

Nathalie Garnier thus explains her artistic development over the past twenty years, a development which has now led her to exhibit at the “La Grange” media library until the end of June. To her credit, animal figures, flowers or more abstract paintings that she offers on the occasion of births, weddings, to friends or any other occasion that presents itself.

Sharing her passion with friends, she continues to make these works more complex, even embroidering on cheesecloth and linen to make the work even finer. But this finesse takes time. Nathalie Garnier explains that she devotes the majority of her free time to it, sometimes taking more than two months to create a single piece.
