According to information obtained by Radio-Canada, the animal management company Escouade canine MRC has had its license revoked by the Ministry of , Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ), which will be responsible for transferring the animals.

Radio-Canada had reported in recent weeks the concerns of elected officials towards the company and the testimonies of ex-employees of the MRC Canine Squad, lifting the veil on allegations of neglect towards cats, which refuted the owner in an interview.

Since then, municipalities have also turned their backs on the company. St. George and Armagh have announced that they will not pay the amounts owed in April to the MRC Canine Squad, at least for the moment.

Others like Saint-Anselme in Bellechasse, Lac-Mégantic and Woburn in Estrie have asked their citizens not to renew their medals with the MRC Canine Squad.

Several other municipalities had mentioned maintaining the status quo, including Beauceville and Sainte-Marie.

Contacted by email, MAPAQ replied that they had received our request. We will get back to you as soon as possiblewe indicate.
