Police in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, arrested Michael Bebee, the country’s most wanted fugitive, on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old man was wanted by Toronto police for the murder of Shamar Powell-Flowers, in the Greek district of the Queen City, in July 2023.
Last month, Toronto police offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the fugitive’s arrest. The approach was part of the Bolo program (New window)which offers rewards in exchange for information that could lead to finding the country’s 25 most wanted fugitives.
Toronto police contacted their colleagues in Prince Edward Island last week to tell them that they had received information that led them to believe that Michael Bebee was in their province.
According to Charlottetown police, detectives from the Toronto police homicide squad will travel to Prince Edward Island in the coming days to bring Michael Bebee back to Ontario.
