Cédric Bovey, 40, is the new head of the cantonal physical education and sport service (SEPS). The former gymnast will succeed Nicolas Imhof on August 1, who wanted to redirect his career after spending 20 years in this position.

Cédric Bovey is “particularly well known in the world of Vaudois sport”, explained the Council of State in a press release on Wednesday. He has the benefit of “significant and vast experience”, whether at the level of teaching, the associative environment or even the national and international sporting world.

The new head of department is a former high-level gymnast. He has been titled several times at the regional, cantonal or national levels. He teaches physical education at the Burier gymnasium and chairs several associations including Sport Vaud and the organizing committee of the Lausanne 2025 Federal Gym Festival.

His experience extends beyond national borders. He has been serving as a training expert for the International Gymnastics Federation and European Gymnastics for 15 years.
