We’re not going to lie, if you opened this page, the probability that you are a current or future lawyer is very high. Yet, Law Night is an event for everyone. In any case, this was the ambition of Laurent Fabius, the current president of the Constitutional Council, when he launched this meeting in 2017. Seven years later his objective remains the same, “to raise awareness among the most diverse audiences of the principles and professions of law, and of the place that law occupies in our societythrough current affairs or references.”

For this new edition, which will be held Thursday October 3, 2024free events are planned throughout mainland France and overseas. Here is the program for the Nord and Pas-de-Calais.

In the North

Douai, from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

• Round tables “Does my body belong to me? »: reflections on the freedom to dispose of one’s body.
• Oratory competition for students of the Faculty of Law. With a jury prize and a public prize. The event is open to everyone.

Dunkirk, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

• Film debate on the theme of supporting minors through justice, around the film Head held high by Emmanuelle Bercot. Open to all upon registration to be sent before October 2 to [email protected].
