The weather looks set to be particularly gloomy this Wednesday, May 1, 2024.

This Wednesday, May 1, Météo-France places 14 departments on orange alert to storms. These should be triggered late in the afternoon and at night. Here are the details of the departments concerned: Somme, Aisne, Oise, Yonne, Aube, Marne, Paris, Seine-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne, Hauts-de- Seine, Val-d’Oise, Seine-et-Marne, Essonne and Yvelines.

From northern Burgundy to Hauts-de-France

“A stormy wave, organized and intense, will sweep the regions from northern Burgundy to Hauts-de-France between the end of the afternoon and the second part of the night from Wednesday to Thursday. In the departments placed on vigilance orange, the storms are expected to be violent with high intensities of precipitation, hailof the squalls. Electrical activity will also be marked”indicates Météo-France in its 6 a.m. bulletin.

“In Normandy, to the immediate west of the storm wave on orange alert, theAccumulated precipitation will be significant from time to time. It cannot be ruled out that certain departments will see a worsening of their level of vigilance.”, warns the meteorological institute. Finally, the forecasting organization warns that these violent storms are likely to cause significant local damage.
