It is a revenue sector which is progressing in the broad sense of French Ligue 1 clubs, as that of the income earned from sponsors and business partners. In 2023, it increased by 4% over 2022 according to conclusions drawn from data from the National Control and Management Directorate.
Paris SG accounts for half of Ligue 1 sponsorship revenue
Combined for all clubs, sponsors brought in more than 678 million euros as of June 30, an average per club of more than 30 million euros. But this is largely driven upwards by Paris Saint-Germain which receives more than half of it alone being, as such, one of the most efficient on the entire European continent.
Clermont sponsors bring in as much as a single premium partner at PSG
To explain in another way the differential of the French champion over the rest of his rivals and particularly the most modest base, it also costs a premium partner, i.e. the second tier of PSG sponsors (which does not include a presence on the jersey), for all partner brands to join forces with Clermont Foot. On average, sponsors account for a third to almost half of the turnover excluding trading of Ligue 1 clubs.
