The Departmental Federation of Rural Family Homes of Lot-et-Garonne, in the presence of its president, Michel Dumez, met recently in the Palay de Pujols hall with the theme “Be healthy!”. Every year, the MFR departmental network of Lot-et-Garonne carries out a joint educational project with young people from 4th grade to BTS. This year, France is hosting the Olympic Games next summer, which is why the different MFRs in the department have decided to engage young people from the MFR network to set up different projects around this theme and to make them become actors. to better understand the issues. The objective of this project is to develop their taste for effort, to cultivate the values of commitment, solidarity, respect and tolerance and to make young actors and promoters of actions and to become aware of the benefits of sport on both physical and mental health. Without forgetting that sport embodies essential values such as teamwork, discipline, perseverance and respect for others. It also promotes solidarity and collaboration, strengthens social bonds while teaching the discipline necessary to achieve objectives. This project has been running since September 2023 and will continue until June 2024 in the different MFRs with partners in their territory.
So, that day, at 12:30 p.m., there was the general assembly of the Departmental Federation of Rural Family Homes of Lot-et-Garonne, and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. there were films restoring actions carried out in the territories by young people from the MFR: films, songs, skits in front of a very large audience. Then at 4 p.m. there was a break with a snack with the distribution of pastries and, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., there was a round table, with participants who had gathered to discuss and debate the theme of the “Be healthy!” day. During a round table, everyone expresses their opinion without any opinion being sidelined. Indeed, everyone is equal around the round table, so no discrimination of any kind is allowed.
Therefore, according to Mr. Michel Dumez, young people, in Family Homes, learn to live together, the daily concerns of teachers being to transmit “know-how and know-how” in order to facilitate the social and professional integration of each person.
