Lyon Métropole Habitat organized a visit on Monday morning to the rehabilitation site of the Joseph Muntz residence, located on Place Jules Grandclément, in Vénissieux. Present on this occasion were Vanina Nicoli, prefect, general secretary of the Rhône prefecture and delegated prefect for equal opportunities, Bruno Bernard, president of the Métropole de Lyon, Michèle Picard, mayor of Vénissieux and vice-president of the Métropole of Lyon, Renaud Payre, vice-president of the Lyon Métropole in charge of housing and social housing, Blandine Collin, president of Lyon Métropole Habitat and Vincent Cristia, general director of Lyon Métropole Habitat.

126 accommodations

This residence built in 1951 has 126 accommodations, spread over 6 buildings, located close to public transport and the Grand Parilly district. The rehabilitation of this complex began in September 2022. The work period will extend until the end of the current year, and will allow the residence to obtain the BBC Effinergie Rénovation label. The housing will thus move from energy class E to class B, thanks to thermal insulation of the facades, replacement of landing doors and certain joinery as well as the connection to the district heating network of the Métropole de Lyon.

Michèle Picard, mayor of Vénissieux, Blandine Collin, president of Lyon Métropole Habitat, Bruno Bernard, president of the Métropole, Vanina Nicoli, general secretary of the Rhône prefecture, and Renaud Payre, vice-president of the Lyon Métropole in charge of housing and social housing (SdH/LPI)

The rehabilitation was led by the Lyon Métropole Habitat and Asur architect teams. It included a waterproofing operation, a complete overhaul of the roof and plumbing, the repair of common areas, as well as the optimization of rainwater treatment. The wet rooms of the accommodation will also be completely refurbished with the installation of baths or showers depending on the typology of the apartments. The work in the 60 T3, 60 T4 and 6 T2 in the residence will be completed in May of this year. Courtesy apartments were made available to households within the residence itself in order to accommodate them during work on their homes.
