Motorists, still have a little patience. The Hauts-de-Seine prefecture announces the resumption of car traffic in the Province-Paris direction from Saturday May 11. A construction site near the 4-lane highway could be the cause of the crack which led to the closure of the A 13 motorway.
“A reopening of the A13 motorway in the Province-Paris direction will be possible from next Saturday, May 11 to light vehicles only, provided that all safety conditions are met,” announced this Monday evening the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture in a press release.
This portion of A13 still remains closed to heavy goods vehicles.
In the Paris-Province direction, “However, heavier repair work is necessary.“, she announced, specifying that “solutions are being studied“and that one”reopening schedule will be specified later.”
The portion of the A13 motorway located between the Paris ring road and the A86 has been closed since April 18 due to a large crack discovered in the roadway during a scheduled closure of the motorway for works. This crack, due to a movement of the ground, could have been caused by a construction site near the motorway viaduct.
“The analyzes carried out today show that the work carried out outside the structure on a nearby construction site is, according to the most probable hypothesis, the events generating this movement of ground.“, announces the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture.
Since the closure of the A13 motorway on April 19, the first embankment works have been carried out, also explains Dirif, (la Interdepartmental Roads Directorate).
