Prince Albert II of Monaco will spend two days in Mayenne on Sunday May 5 and Monday May 6, 2024. It is in Mayenne that the Monegasque sovereign, also Duke of Mayenne, is first expected, around 2:45 p.m.
Two moments to meet the public
He will begin this very first visit to the department with a meeting with elected officials and local stakeholders at the Palais de la Barre Ducale, the former town hall, followed by a stroll through the city center on Sunday May 5. He will then have to visit the Mayenne castle museum before speaking publicly in the castle courtyard. Albert II of Monaco will stop at the theater where the international piano competition is organized. The Duke of Mayenne will award prizes to the winners.
A unique exhibition at the Archives
The next day, Monday May 6, Albert II of Monaco will visit the Toiles de Mayenne in Fontaine-Daniel, before returning to Laval. At the Departmental Archives, he will inaugurate an exhibition retracing the links that unite the Monegasque royal family and the Mayenne department. Then, he is expected at the Hôtel du Département where he will have lunch with the departmental councils, before a final visit in the afternoon to the Cité du lait.
