In the list of “the most dynamic cities in terms of entrepreneurship” unveiled by Smappen, we see in the Top 20 a grouping of municipalities in the metropolis since behind Saint-Priest, second in the ranking after , we find Vénissieux at the 4e place, at 13e Tassin 16e Decines 17e Lyon 18e ; brings up the rear at 50 e place in the ranking which focuses on the entrepreneurial dynamics of cities with more than 20,000 inhabitants in which the French have undertaken the most in 2023.

A ranking based on the analysis of data from BODACC (The official bulletin of civil and commercial announcements) and the INSEE databases, which allowed Smappen to compare the cities in which there have been the most new establishments of companies, deducting the write-offs carried out during the year, all related to the number of inhabitants.

If Paris, without much surprise, is at the top of this ranking with 18,413 new business creations, i.e. one new business for every 118 inhabitants, the rest of the podium is more surprising since in second place we find Saint-Priest, followed by Cannes and Vénissieux, 4e is lying in wait at the gates of the podium, cities that have become welcoming lands for entrepreneurs which recorded in 2023, 412 new businesses, or one for every 163 inhabitants (614 creations and 202 cancellations).

A place of choice which makes the mayor of Vénissieux, Michèle Picard, say that “Vénissieux benefits from the vitality of an important and diversified economic fabric: large industrial groups, SMEs-SMIs and micro-enterprises coexist. We have been able to establish a real partnership dynamic over the years because we believe in the future of the industry, in training and integration. The cooperation charter constitutes a strong local network of companies, with nearly 150 signatory companies and I invite newly established companies to join it. »

Despite its economic attractiveness, Lyon lost this year its position as the most attractive metropolis in , which it had obtained for 6 consecutive years.
