This Friday evening marks the end of a consultation period during which several options were studied to secure the Tilsitt and Joffre quays in .

This is a sector particularly affected by accidents in Lyon.

Le long of the Tilsitt and Joffre quaysaround twenty collisions have taken place since 2017. And sometimes, tragedies.

In August 2022, Iris and Warren tragically lost their lives while riding a scooter, struck down by an ambulance on Quai Joffre.

The dangerousness of this section of road where buses, cars, bicycles and other means of transport intersect has been regularly highlighted since. A consultation had been launched to consider new arrangements.

The findings revealed this evening

The conclusions must be presented to residents at a public meeting this Friday September 27from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The meeting takes place at the Catholic University of Lyon, Place Carnot (more information here).

Guest on the SCOOP Matin show, the vice-president responsible for active mobility, Fabien Bagnonrevealed this plan:

We will of course maintain a bus corridor, but we will also create a separator with the bike pathexplained Fabien Bagnon to our microphone. It is an arrangement which should make it possible to secure all modes.

Parking spaces will thus be preserved and five crossing platforms will be created.

In total, more than 500 local residents were able to give their opinion on this consultation. The work should take place between summer and the end of 2025.
