An incredible case of robbery in broad daylight, on the eve of the last presidential election, escaped our radar. The facts occurred precisely on March 20, around 9 a.m., in a money transfer structure at the HLM Route de Dakar, not far from the Maniang Soumaré municipal stadium and adjoining the Cheikh Sidati Aidara residence, opposite from the Sen’eau regional agency. The six thugs, wearing ordinary masks, arrived aboard 3 scooters and entered the agency managed by the wife of a Modou-modou.
According to sources from “L’As”, this arrival could be explained by the fact that they knew the locations and the service’s agenda well, because it took place just after funds had been received. This is how they took several million FCfa during an operation which lasted less than 10 minutes.
When they were about to take off on the motorcycles, a taxi driver who was observing the scene ran into one of the motorcycles and one of the robbers had a violent fall. But everything happened quickly and before he was trapped, he was able to limp back to his companions who were waiting for him at the corner. And this is how they took the key to the fields without leaving a trace.
