The collective of Defenders of Lyon is calling for a rally this Monday, September 30, 2024 in front of the Metropolis of Lyon to denounce the “crying contempt of the Mayor of the city of Lyon and the President of the Metropolis in the face of the protest”.
It is during the metropolitan council that the Defenders of Lyon collective wants to make itself heard. While the first metropolitan council since the start of the school year will be held on Monday, September 30, the collective, which claims 10,000 signatories, is calling for mobilization at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Métropole de Lyon, in the 3rd arrondissement.
“Bernard and Bagnon push the envelope, the inhabitants of Greater Lyon raise their voices” he explains in their press release. Before continuing: “Faced with the inability of elected officials from the Metropolis of Lyon to listen to residents regarding all the development projects currently being deployed, the Collective of Defenders of Lyon and Greater Lyon is calling for the general mobilization of Lyonnais and Grand Lyonnais.”

The collective which brings together residents, traders and associations was created last spring to denounce the developments put in place by the Metropolis, particularly on the Lyon peninsula. Last July, the collective sent an open letter to the City to protest against “street closures in Lyon“.
