The day promises to be intense, Saturday September 28, 2024 has Guémené-Penfao (-Atlantique).

Multiple events

Indeed, several large-scale events are planned in the town.

Starting with the traditional Saint-Michel Fair (on the Jean Jaurès mall) and the agricultural show (on the Lizien grounds, route de Guénouvry).

A garage sale will also be set up at Prairies du Don and it will be possible to taste bread baked in the communal bread oven.

In parallel will be held the second edition of the Garden in all its formsin the presbytery gardens.

The garden program

Many activities are at program of this second edition:

  • from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: participatory workshop with Alain Berhault on inviting the public to gardening and the installation of collective plots. “Several participatory workshops will follow from the fall and throughout the seasons on collective and individual plots,” specifies the town hall.
  • From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: information stand on Sel du Don: presentation and discussions on their activities.
  • From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: musical interludes hosted by Clé de Sol students.
  • 2:30 p.m.: Kairos concert, La Bande à Tonton.
  • 5 p.m.: friendship drink and competition results.

Three competitions organized

As part of this festive event, three competitions are organized, including the biggest vegetable competitionopen to all. “Do you have any unusual vegetables in your garden? Bring them from 10 a.m. to the entrance to the presbytery garden,” explains the town hall.

In the same vein, the scarecrow competition will take place. A creation to DIY from recycled objects and materials. Like the vegetables, meet at 10 a.m. in the presbytery garden.

Finally, a drawing competition will be organized for children aged 2 to 9. They will have to represent the garden of their dreams.

“For all three competitions, you must mention your contact details (last name, first name, telephone number, email) on the items in order to be contacted in the event of a win. Filled baskets filled with surprises are up for grabs,” specifies the municipality.

Other entertainment

In addition, the municipality will hold a stand on site, to discuss “the environmental choices of the municipality, with round tables on the shared gardens project”.

A speaker from Redon Agglomération will also give “tips and tricks” for composting and gardening naturally. It will also guide the public on waste sorting.

Finally, the Marcelle Maurette media library will open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will offer a selection of books on the garden.
