A 35-year-old man well known to police circles was murdered early Thursday morning in Gatineau.

The inert body of Maxim Bourgon-Frigon was found early in the morning, around 6:15 a.m., on Boulevard des Allumettières, near the intersection of Rue Saint-Rédempteur, in the Hull sector.

When the police arrived on the scene, they quickly understood that the man lying on the ground had been the victim of “an attack”.

Suffering from very serious injuries, Maxim Bourgon-Frigon was transported to hospital, where doctors could only declare his death.

This was the third murder committed in Gatineau since the start of the year.

A portion of Boulevard des Allumettières was completely closed to traffic for a good part of the day to allow analysis of the crime scene.

An autopsy will be carried out on the body over the next few hours to establish the exact cause of his death.

No suspects have yet been arrested for this murder.

Maxim Bourgon-Frigon was well known in police circles. He had a criminal history for possession of a firearm, assault with a weapon, assault and drugs, among others.
