On April 13 and 14, the general assembly of the association of “Plus Beaux Villages de France” was held in Grignon in the Drôme. Najac was represented by Suzanne Déléris, deputy in charge of tourism and finance and vice-president of Ouest Aveyron Community in charge of tourism.
The opportunity for the ten villages of Aveyron bearing this prestigious label to come together around Stéphane Bern, guest for the occasion. For Najac, the renewal of the label is being studied this year. The municipality is refining the file and inviting each and every resident to make the village pleasant and welcoming, as always, and perhaps a little more.

Quality approach

For the record, since 1991, “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” have established a real quality approach based on a quasi-scientific process and criteria for selecting villages. This method, which has proven its rigor and selectivity, is a guarantee of the credibility of the label.
In total, more than thirty criteria serve as a benchmark for evaluating villages candidate for classification among The Most Beautiful Villages of France. Urban planning qualities and architectural qualities, in Najac they escape no one, are highlighted, as are the development efforts or the protection of the natural heritage, reception and development.
Najac, like each of the villages already labeled, will thus be subject to re-expertise. This takes place, depending on the level of reservations expressed in the initial or previous expert report, every six to nine years, in order to verify that the village still meets the criteria.
