Rescue operation: 59-year-old paraglider stuck in a tree

An extremely delicate operation to rescue a 59-year-old paraglider suspended in the air was carried out on Saturday, early evening, in Cap-Santé in Portneuf.

The experienced man had some difficulty leaving the ground, so he headed straight into a tree where he remained stuck for more than four hours.

The Sûreté du Québec helicopter and a rescue team were called for assistance because the paraglider was approximately 200 feet above the ground.

He was finally rescued around 6:30 p.m. and escaped unhurt.
