Justin Trudeau has explicitly warned Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe that the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) is “very, very good” when it comes to recovering amounts owed, saying occurrence of the federal carbon tax on natural gas bills.

The standoff between Saskatchewan and Ottawa began when the Liberal government granted an exemption from the carbon tax for homes heated with oil in certain provinces, notably in Atlantic, where oil is the main Source of fuel for home heating .

The Saskatchewan premier called the decisionunfair and of politically motivated, thus expressing his disagreement with it. Scott Moe’s government therefore decided to stop collecting the federal tax in question and to pay it to Ottawa.

Last Tuesday, Justin Trudeau confirmed that Saskatchewan residents will continue to benefit from the Canadian Carbon Rebate, even if Prime Minister Moe is not sending this money to Ottawa right now.

Initially, Ottawa had suggested that the rebates granted to Saskatchewan under the Canadian Carbon Rebate could be called into question, but this is no longer the case.

Mr. Trudeau also criticized Scott Moe for his ideological opposition to the fight against climate change and accused the federal Conservatives of blocking, to ideological reasonsa bill aimed at increasing the rural complement of carbon emissions reduction.

The relationship between Justin Trudeau and Scott Moe has been marked by tension for some time. The Saskatchewan Prime Minister is among the majority of premiers who have requested a meeting with Mr. Trudeau to explore alternative solutions regarding the price of carbon.

The country’s only Liberal prime minister, Andrew Furey of Newfoundland and Labrador, is also among those calling for change.

Justin Trudeau has rejected calls for such a meeting and challenged premiers to come up with their own climate plans if they don’t like the federal carbon price, citing British Columbia and Quebec as examples of provinces with of their own system.

All these prime ministers who are busy complaining about the price on pollution, but who do not propose other concrete solutions that would be better for their communities, they are only playing politicsdeclared the Canadian Prime Minister at the beginning of April.

Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP) Leader Jagmeet Singh is criticizing Justin Trudeau for taking a divisive approach among provincial premiers when it comes to climate change.

We need a fairer plan for workersdeclared the New Democratic leader before the Alberta Legislative Assembly in Edmonton on Wednesday.

When workers see billions of dollars in subsidies going to big polluters and there is no money in place for Canadians to equip themselves with a heat pump, it is unfair.
