Despite the efforts made by the services of the marina of Pornichet (-Atlantique), a motor boat with a length of 7.20 m ended up sinking at the end of the morning on Wednesday September 18, 2024.

Fuel leak

For months, probably due to a lack of maintenance, port agents had to regularly pump out the water in order to keep the wooden boat afloat.

Despite numerous interventions with the owner, the situation did not improve, because this time the sea was stronger and ended up taking this pleasure boat into its depths forever.

The port services managed to limit the pollution from the fuel leak by installing a floating barrier around the site.

“As stipulated in the port police regulations, boaters are responsible for the maintenance and mooring of their boats.”

“And if the ship sinks, the owner must bear the cost of refloating and drying it out,” the official emphasizes.
