Basket Landes-Lyon (79-60): A class above
After a one-way match in the Rhône (67-89), Basket Landes did it again in its Mons lair, full as an egg. Julie Barennes’ troops did not have to exert their talent against the Lyonnaises a tone below.
From the start, Basket Landes showed its teeth in defense to break the visitors’ desire for redemption. With a fast game and remarkable skill near the basket (72% at half-time), the Landaises made the break quickly (30-7, 14th). If Lyon reduced the gap before the break (50-42, 29′), the Montoises had the merit of reacting with great composure to keep their opponents at a safe distance.
Alexis Peterson (18 points, 6 assists) impressed, in a collective which gives a lot of hope to its fans, and which can aim for a double. As a reminder, Basket Landes will play the final of the Coupe de France, this Saturday April 27 (4:30 p.m.) in Bercy, against Bourges.
The scorers: Peterson (18), Fuehring (13), Bussiere (10), Djaldi-Tabdi and Geiselsoder (8), Chery and Macquet (7), Salvadores (6), Pardon (2)
