Street art, music and tradition… There is definitely something for everyone during the European Heritage Days. A non-exhaustive and necessarily subjective selection of visits that you should not miss this weekend.

Playing the elected officials in the office of the mayor of Rouen
Have you never had the opportunity to enter Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol’s office? Come to the City Hall on Sunday, September 22 for a guided tour by Elizabeth Labaye, municipal councilor in charge of heritage, matrimony and municipal archives.
In addition to visiting the mayor’s office, the curious will be able to explore the city council chamber, the wedding hall and the République lounge. In addition, a musical interlude will be performed by students from the Rouen Conservatory.

Explore the port of Le Havre in a different way
For the 2024 European Open Water Games, Haropa Port is offering numerous activities at its various Seine-Maritime sites. In Le Havre, discover a real open-air museum with a guided tour by the MediAction association. You can admire street art and learn more about the history of the port.
September 21 and 22 at 9:35 a.m. (tour ends at around 11:45 a.m.) and 1:35 p.m. (tour ends at around 3:45 p.m.). Meeting point: central reservation of the bar. Free upon registration.
See beyond the concrete… And go behind the scenes at the Volcan du Havre
What is really hidden under this concrete shell? This is what the Volcan du Havre team invites you to discover, through guided tours. You will discover the technical areas, the dressing rooms and the great hall of this submerged theater, and learn more about this “yogurt pot” designed by Oscar Niemeyer, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Learn about nautical knots
The Maritime, River and Port Museum of Rouen is changing its opening hours for Heritage Days. Open during the day at a reduced rate, it will offer various workshops (making small boats, treasure hunts, origami, etc.) as well as an introduction to nautical knots, all day long!

Sneaking into the bowels of one of the best-preserved sites from World War II
This site is the Kahl-Burg, in Tréport. An unusual place, a little hidden, built by the Germans after the Dieppe raid in 1942, with the aim of making it a command post. The place has been restored since 2001 by an association, Le mur de la Manche, which will be hosting guided tours this weekend.
