André Bousser reappointed as president

The Week

André Bousser, re-elected as president of the Union of Enterprises, has clarified his roadmap for this three-year term.

Elected president of the Union des Entreprises de Moselle in 2021, André Bousser was re-elected almost unanimously. For this new term, the manager intends to capitalize on the organization he has driven for 2 years, in close collaboration with Cécile Astro-Carrère, the general delegate of the interprofessional employers’ organization, since May 2022 (and who knows the company very well). And on the positive points accumulated: rejuvenation of the board of directors, development of new services, rapprochement with the driving forces (elected officials, army, etc.), increase in the number of members, etc.

The EU 57 currently has 350 members (30 more since the General Assembly last May) and has a budget of nearly 900,000 euros. “Our members are VSEs and SMEs, but we also welcome large groups and traders, which allows us to have a fair view of the economic situation and businesses. And to better support them, defend them and make them heard,” explains André Bousser.

“A complicated period, where even a compass is not of much use”

To move forward, the president is banking on the strength of the collective with the appointment of 8 vice-presidents.

In terms of major priorities, the ambition is to meet business leaders from across the Moselle region, to develop relations with German and Luxembourg neighbours, to open up more to artisans and traders, etc. Two more concrete projects were mentioned, such as the creation of a structure to take better care of business leaders who need support or the launch of a “nursery” intended to support young managers.

“We are going through a complicated period where even a compass is not much use. It is important to be able to form a community because together, we are even stronger,” emphasizes André Bousser, who also specifies: “If we have to be more offensive, and the context may require it, I will adopt a change of tone.”

Among his priorities, the president also intends to prepare his succession within two years, because this is his last term at the head of the union organization.
