Gard: a car leaves the road in a busy area, the outcome is miraculous

A spectacular accident. This Sunday, April 21, shortly before noon, a fifty-year-old had an incredible off-road accident on the N106, at the entrance to Salles-du-Gardon, north of Alès, in , reports Midi Libre.

As our colleagues report, the accident took place when the driver was arriving at a roundabout marking the entrance to the village. For a reason still unknown, the man hit the sidewalk violently before cross the fence of the bowling alley and destroy a section of wall about twenty meters further on. He then finished his race on the covered grounds of the bowling alley, fortunately closed to the public on weekends.

No casualties to report

Witnesses reported that the driver seemed particularly disoriented when emergency services arrived, who took him to the Alès Hospital Center for observation and blood testing.

“We avoided a tragedy”reacted Farid Benramdane, in charge of the services of sports of Alès Agglomération to Midi Libre, before adding: “On Wednesday again, we had 300 people at the bowling alley, if someone had been there, on the bench…”.

This accident occurred barely a week after a young driver lost control of her vehicle and ended up hitting a lamppost on the roundabout. “It’s the law of series”said the mayor of Alès, Georges Brioudes, who also described the outcome of this spectacular accident as miraculous.
