This Friday in La Tronche, a burglar tried to escape the police by throwing himself into the Isère, according to information from Blue IsereThe events took place during the night from Friday to Saturday, September 14. During a routine patrol, police officers surprised a man trying to burgle a home. The individual ended up in Isère, before being hospitalized, in a state of hypothermia.

The young man was taken to University Hospital

The thief in question is a 21-year-old young man. When he saw the police officers, who are agents of the anti-crime brigade (BAC), he panicked. So, he tried to escape them by throwing himself into the river.

The BAC officers then followed the young thief’s path, still in the water. When he tried to get back onto a bank, the police finally managed to arrest him. The burglar was suffering from hypothermia and had to be treated by the firefighters. The emergency services took him to the Grenoble Alpes University Hospital. He was then taken into custody by the police.
