65,000 copies of a new ruler providing information on the allowed sizes capture for the fishing on foot have been published and will be distributed on the beaches and in the tourist offices of the Breton coast. And this, from the high tides of this week, of Wednesday 18 to Saturday, September 21, 2024.
In Côtes-d’Armor, the VivArmor nature association is looking for volunteers to distribute them to fishermen, particularly on the beaches of Plouezec And Binic-Stables on the Sea.
In Port-Lazo, at Godelins and Moulin beach
VivArmor Nature and Litt’Obs are looking for volunteers to raise awareness among shore fishermen during this week’s high tides at several sites:
- Thursday, September 19: Godelins Beach in Binic-Etables-sur-Mer from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday September 20: Port Lazo in Plouézec from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Saturday September 21: Moulin Beach in Binic-Etables-sur-Mer from 3:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Thanks to the Super Powers of the Ocean
The Côtes-d’Armor naturalist association, which has been raising awareness about the good practices for fishing on foot, was able to publish this new tool thanks to the support of the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB) and the generosity of donors of the operation The Super Powers of the Ocean supported by France Nature Environnement.
The 65,000 copies will be distributed on the beaches and in tourist offices along the Breton coast.
Practical and funthis new ruler was designed to remind people of the regulations governing shore fishing in Brittany and facilitate sorting captures.
For sustainable and safe fishing
It also reminds shore fishermen of the need to protect coastal environments sensitive issues such as the ban on fishing for shellfish and marine worms in eelgrass beds or the obligation to replace overturned stones.
