A delegation composed of the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX) and the Moroccan Institute of Standardization (IMANOR) takes part in Moscow in the 14th International Halal Congress, organized by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation. The event, held as part of the 31st International Food, Beverage and Food Materials Exhibition (PRODEXPO 2024), was an opportunity to explore the different offers on the Russian market.
On this occasion, an agreement was signed for mutual recognition of the Moroccan Halal label and its Russian counterpart. An initiative which is part of a cooperation agreement signed in 2020 between ASMEX, the Russian International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification and the “Eurasian Development Fund”, in order to consolidate Moroccan-Russian relations. in the field of Halal trade.
The memorandum of understanding was signed last week on the sidelines of the International Halal Congress, by the director of IMANOR, Abderrahim Taibi, and the director general of the Russian International Center for Halal Standardization and Certification, Aidar Gazizov . The text aims to establish long-term partnerships in the development of the halal industry in the context of Russian-Moroccan relations and to exchange experiences in conformity assessment procedures, issuance of certificates and research on halal products.
It also concerns the mutual recognition of halal certificates by the parties, the organization of joint events, research, the establishment of professional training programs, the exchange of information, as well as the protection of rights consumers of halal products and services.
