Young Kamilya, who died a few days after being hit by a motocross bike in Vallauris on Thursday 29 August, was a member of the Mougins football club, which is paying tribute to her this weekend.

The football club where little Kamilya, aged seven, was registered, who died tragically on Sunday 1st September after being knocked down by a motorcyclist in Vallauris on Thursday 29th August in Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes), is paying tribute to her over the weekend.

Kamilya’s family has close ties with the Côte d’Azur club, since the girl’s older brother is also part of the FC Mougins U12 team. For example, FC Mougins Côte d’Azur set up a kitty at the club’s refreshment bar on Saturday, September 7, to help the victim’s family.

“Everyone is affected”

At the end of the day this Saturday, Slim Oussaya, Kamilya’s father, also gave the kick-off for the senior team’s match. An important tribute in the eyes of the grieving father in order to be able to continue to make himself heard following the tragedy.

“It was an initiative from the club’s management. It really touches me and it shows that everyone is affected, that everyone is afraid for their children. We all say to ourselves that it can happen to anyone. Unfortunately, in recent days, there have been quite a few accidents that were similar,” said the victim’s father.

According to the club, “several initiatives will be put in place to honor” Kamilya’s memory. “Our two first teams will wear a warm-up t-shirt with a photo of Kamilya,” FC Mougins wrote on Facebook. Their teams “will wear a black armband” and “a minute of applause before all kick-offs of home matches” will be held.

The tribute will continue this Sunday, September 8 at 2 p.m. at the Valmasque stadium in Mougins.
