Oasis add two more dates to tour after Ticketmaster fiasco

The Gallagher brothers have announced two additional shows for their reunion tour, days after a controversial ticket sale on Ticketmaster.

Those who failed to secure tickets to see Oasis return to the stage will be given a second chance. The British group announced two additional dates for this reunion tour on Wednesday, September 4. They will take place on September 27 and 28, 2025 at Wembley Stadium, northwest of London. A decision taken a few days after the initial sale of tickets on Ticketmaster, which was the subject of much criticism.

“Two additional shows have been added to Wembley Stadium due to overwhelming demand,” read a statement posted on Oasis’ Instagram account.

“Tickets will be sold through a multi-stage, invitation-only draw process,” the statement continued. “Registration to take part will be given priority to the many fans in the UK who were unable to secure tickets during the initial sale on Ticketmaster.” Further details will be announced at a later date.

Bugs, waiting and exorbitant prices

The sale of tickets for the 17 dates initially announced, on Saturday 31 August on Ticketmaster, has sparked anger among many fans. 1.4 million tickets were sold in the space of ten hours, not without many problems: up to 500,000 people connected simultaneously, causing interminable virtual queues and numerous technical glitches.

Above all, many Internet users have had the unpleasant surprise of discovering when accessing the purchase page, often after waiting several hours, that the price had almost doubled due to strong “demand”. A consequence of the dynamic pricing system, which adapts the cost of tickets to demand.

In response, British Culture Minister Lisa Nandy promised on Monday 2 September to look into the problem:

“We will include issues relating to transparency and the use of dynamic pricing, including queuing system technology that encourages it, in our upcoming consultation on consumer protections for ticket resale.”

Unexpected return

The reunion of this flagship group of the 1990s and 2000s, announced with great fanfare on August 27, is a global cultural event. Liam and Noel Gallagher, the sworn enemies who lead the group, fell out in 2009, just before performing at Rock en Seine. The performance never took place, they never collaborated again and, 15 years later, fans had lost hope of seeing them reunited.

The two dates announced this Wednesday, September 4, bring to 19 the total number of concerts that Oasis will perform during this tour, entitled live ’25They will perform in five cities between the United Kingdom and Ireland, from July 4 to September 28, 2025.
