Childcare Fees Are Rising This Year, Here Are Where It Will Cost Even More

Childcare prices have seen record increases this year. Parents now have to pay an average of €10.50 per hour for a babysitter and €3.96 for a childminder.

More bad news for family budgets. Childcare prices continue to rise in 2024. According to the latest barometer from Yoopies, a platform specializing in personal services, prices have seen record increases this year. Parents now have to pay an average of 10.50 euros per hour for a babysitter, compared to 10.12 euros in 2023. The cost of a childminder has also increased, from 3.80 euros to 3.96 euros per hour. These increases are 4.12% and 3.70% respectively compared to the previous year.

Disparities according to regions

Some regions are particularly affected by these increases. Corsica, with an increase of 8.97 euros in one year, stands out as the most expensive region for childminders with an hourly rate of 4.86 euros, closely followed by Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur (4.57 euros) and Île-de-France (4.38 euros). On the other hand, Normandy displays the lowest rates, with 3.67 euros for a childminder. As for home care, regional differences also exist.
