Pop sensation Charli XCX has announced the end of “brat summer,” a trend she started with her hit album “Brat.”

The “brat” aesthetic that swept social media this summer with its signature color, “brat green,” is now a thing of the past.

Singer Charli XCX, the new darling of British pop, is behind the movement thanks to her hit album Bratannounced this week the end of “brat summer.”

“Goodbye forever, ‘brat summer,’” she wrote on her X account last Monday.

Charli XCX’s album became the soundtrack to a tsunami of “brat dance” videos and inspired a choreography that has been performed millions of times in the Olympic Village at the Paris Games and on social media.

The album cover, the word “brat” written in black on a neon green square reminiscent of the color of the ogre Shrek, launched the trend at the end of June.

It has even infected the American presidential campaign and the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, known for being spontaneous and good-natured. The candidate’s campaign team adopted the “brat” color for its visuals on X.

Charli XCX rose to fame in the 2010s with her hit I Love It with the Swedish duo Icona Pop then Fancy by Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Her latest album Brat had the best launch of his career thanks to the single 360.
