Established with in the Aylmer sector since the early 1990s, Lyette Goyette has walked the boards of the old water tower in several productions over the past 30 years.
His very last presence on stage dates back to 2021, in Albertine in five stages, whose representations have however been turned upside down by the pandemic. In the play directed by Kira Ehlers, she played the famous character of Michel Tremblay at 70, alongside her friend Chantale Richer, among others.
The public of the region could also see it in Trap for a single man (2019) or even ripe loves (2008), Madame Després and her good friend (2012) and The Crow (2015). Host Patrice Bélanger also shared the stage with Lyette Goyette at the Théâtre de l’Île, when he debuted in 1996, in lifelong friendsand in Peter and Mary… and the demonin 2003.
On the other side of the Ottawa River, Lyette Goyette was notably part of the cast of Vagina Monologuespresented by the Théâtre du Trillium in 2008.
It was in her forties that Lyette Goyette began her professional career, after studying theater at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. In 1992, the former artistic director of the Théâtre de l’Île, Sylvie Dufour, who was then head of the Théâtre du Nouvel Ontario, was the first to hire him, allowing him to play in Ottawa and Sudbury, then in Gatineau.
