What could have looked like a banal series race on Thursday at Huntingdon was in reality not really so. And for good reason, there was a Derby winner there at the start! Palladiumwinner of the German Derby last year, was purchased for €1,400,000 at the Arc sale. He thus became the most expensive horse in history to run over jumps. Now under the training of Nicky Henderson and the colors of Lady Bamford, the son of Gleneagles (whose products are very successful over jumps) made his debut on the Huntingdon fences. He established himself in good style, after being seen at the forefront. His trainer also made no secret of the fact that he was relieved to see him start like this.
