et Christhe rapper looked back on his childhood:
I was taken hostage by the city. From the age of 10 to the age of 25, I lived in every neighborhood. Because in fact, it was social precariousness that put me in this. It’s not because I wanted to leave, I wanted to leave. And I freaked out when I heard rap saying: “I don’t want to leave the neighborhood”. How they can say that is crazy.
Youssoupha opens up about his relationship with Shay
Let it be said, music is sometimes a family affair. This is particularly the case with
Youssoupha whose nephews are
Shay et The Pattern. His father was the Congolese legend Tabu Rochereau Law. With time,
the rapper discovered that he had several dozen brothers and sisters including the mother of Shay :
I know their mother, they are smaller, they are my family but I love them. Vanessa [Shay, NDLR] I find it too strong. People often ask me: “do you give him advice?” “. Well frankly it’s not to spoil her, she’s seriously managing to find herself on her own. Sometimes she calls me for advice. She is intuitive. She found things that even I wouldn’t have recommended to her.

Youssoupha took the opportunity to highlight the great performance and progress of
Shay :
When I see it, I just see the artist. She masters her game. It’s wow. There, she made her Zenith, it was crazy. At the beginning of 2024 she had never done concerts before, she only did a few showcases, she had to work and everything. Being a girl in the industry is a lot of pressure (…) it’s too hard to be a girl.
