Every year, King Philippe of Belgium, 64, and his wife, Queen Mathilde, 52, head to Davos, where they meet the decision-makers and the great fortunes of this world. Davos, an Alpine town in Graubünden, becomes the center of the world for a few days when the World Economic Forum holds its annual meeting there. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are regulars at Davos and the World Economic Forum, which they never miss. The lobbying event was created in 1971 by Klaus Schwab and took the name of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 1987. This Tuesday, January 21, 2025, King Philippe met the CEO of the Volvo Group, Martin Lundstedt, to discuss the activities of the manufacturer and the future of the automobile industry, explains the Royal Palace. King Philippe also met with Iraqi President Abdel Latif Rachid to discuss relations between Belgium and Iraq, as well as the current situation in the Middle East.
