Olivier Luder’s last journeys on the CJ rails

Olivier Luder is preparing to see the end of a 44-year career at the Chemins de fer du Jura. Recognizable by his thick, snow-white curly hair and his famous old-fashioned mustache, the Franc-Montagnard will retire this Saturday, after one last ride on the rails. The man – a former MP and seasoned accordionist – has become essential for users, with whom he loves to interact.

A few hours away from being able to enjoy his family, his electric mountain bike and train travel as a passenger, Olivier Luder welcomed us this Wednesday for a Saignelégier-La Chaux-de-Fonds round trip, in the cabin. “I am surprised myself, I always enjoy doing this line,” proclaims Taignon, who delivers some juicy anecdotes, like when he stopped his train to go and collect morels he saw during a journey. “I finish on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. in Saignelégier. I’m offering an aperitif to everyone who will be there! », declared Olivier Luder to a passenger who was about to board his train.
