Faced with these prospects which all lead towards the summit, a dark affair dating back to 2021 risks compromising everything.
At 36, Rihanna’s darling went to court in Los Angeles. This Tuesday, January 21, he faced two counts of assault with a semi-automatic weapon. Caught up in his past, A$AP Rocky – real name Rakim Mayres – allegedly shot his former friend A$AP Relli (Terell Ephron) in November 2021, near Selma Avenue, in Los Angeles.

Heard for the first time by the courts in November 2023, the rapper rejected the accusations made by his former friend with whom he had founded the hip-hop collective from which he takes his nickname. Summoned again this Tuesday, prosecutors reached out to A$AP Rocky, offering him a deal on the potential sentence. Facing up to 24 years in prison if convicted, the latter refused the arrangement which provided for 180 days of incarceration, seven years of suspended sentence and three years of probation.

A fratricidal war
According to the police report, A$AP Rocky shot A$AP Relli following an altercation over payment for the funeral of a third member of their collective A$AP Mob. A drop of water in an ocean of tensions, Rocky and Relli met in high school and since then, if the first has flown towards success, this is not really the case for the second.
