The Desimages aux mots (Diam) Festival will take over Toulouse, the Occitanie region and Ramonville in 2025 with a selection of new films celebrating LGBTQIA+ cinematic culture.
Diam, a must-see festival since 2007, will be held from January 24 to February 2 in Toulouse, before expanding to Occitanie and New Aquitaine from February 3 to 25. Organized by the From Images to Words association, it offers unique screenings by LGBTQIA+ directors, accompanied by discussions and meetings around the themes of diversity and inclusion. This 18th edition stands out with a committed selection, honoring 48.8% of female directors.

Monday February 3, 9 p.m.: Young Hearts. Tuesday February 4, 6 p.m.: Crossing Istanbul. Wednesday February 5, 6:30 p.m.: 3 km until the end of the world. Thursday February 13, 9 p.m.: Crossing Istanbul. Friday February 14, 6:30 p.m.: Young Hearts. Tuesday February 18, 9 p.m.: 3 km until the end of the world.
In Toulouse, seven locations will host the screenings. In the region, 37 cinemas spread over 13 departments will participate in the event, including the Autan cinema in Ramonville, recognized for its constant support of the festival and its commitment to cultural plurality. Festival-goers will be able to discover 13 feature-length fiction films, 13 new documentaries and 39 short films, divided into several themes: PluriELLES, Boysnight, Trans-lucides, DoQueer and DIAMômes, a program specially designed for children aged 6 and over.

Several thematic evenings are also planned, such as an intergenerational evening on sexuality and desires at different ages. The festival guarantees accessibility through subtitled screenings and events translated into LSF. This year, renowned guests will participate, including director Chloé Barreau, director Hristo Todorov and drag queen Minima Gesté, central figure in the documentary Minima et les drags.
The Festival Des Images Aux Mots benefits from the support of local institutions such as the town hall of Toulouse, the departmental council of Haute-Garonne, the Occitanie regional council and the Espace Diversités et secularité.
