This Monday, January 20, 2025, TF1 is broadcasting episodes 5 and 6 of season 1 of Erica, its brand new detective series adapted from the books by Camilla Läckberg. Is a sequel possible for 2026? For the moment, no season 2 has been ordered, but the cast composed of Julie de Bona and Grégory Fitoussi (Patrick) already seems ready.

The rest after the ad
While HPI will end on our screens in 2025 at the end of its season 5, has TF1 found its replacement? Since its launch at the start of the year, Erica – series adapted from the books Erica Falck and Patrik Hedström written by the author Camilla Läckberg – is a great success.
A sequel for Erica ?
Carried by a very effective duo composed of Julie de Bona et Grégory Fitoussithis detective fiction like no other has already achieved very good audiences with 3.83 million viewers on average for episodes 1 and 2, and 3.89 million fans gathered on average watching episodes 3 and 4.
-And while there are currently 11 volumes of the literary saga (and a twelfth novel is being written), we suspect that there is enough potential to exploit to make it last Erica a few years. That's good, where the channel has not yet announced its future, the casting is already ready to continue the adventure.
Speaking to Télé 7 Jours, Grégory Fitoussi recently confided: “It would be a lot of fun for me to continue in the role of Patrick. (…) At the end [de la saison 1]I hope that [le public] will want to know more about them and see them in even more incredible situations.“
Julie de Bona under the spell of her heroine
For her part, Julie de Bona seems on the same wavelength, she would rarely have had so much fun with a role. Even though crime fiction is not necessarily his favorite genre, “It's not my favorite world. I feel like today we see a lot of murders on television“, the actress nevertheless reminded TF1 thatErica had enough personality to break away from the usual clichés. “There is magic in writingshe enthused. But also more romantic comedy and solar comedy. It's very human.“
So much so that Julie de Bona “fell in love with the character” which she interprets. “She is sunny, but she is also full of wounds, of neurosis, of things that she has not resolvedthe star subsequently detailed. She's a little tart candy with flaws and a huge need for love.“And to specify:”She made me happy, like she was my best friend.“
Suffice to say that, if there is season 2, the actress will be the first to dive into it. “This is perhaps the character closest to who I ameven if there are things that I sought outside of myselfshe admitted. It was a bit of a meeting between her and mewe gave each other.”
It remains to hope for a renewal on the part of the leaders…
