The adventure Star Academy 2024 is unfortunately over for Franck. On January 18, 2025, he faced Ebony in their semi-final. And it is the latter who qualified against Marine. Two days after his elimination, the young man returned to his adventure with Purepeople. He also revealed who he sees winning.
What state of mind were you in during this bonus?
I only had one idea in mind: to make a nice bonus. Because I had a 50/50 chance of leaving and I had to leave on a good note.
What did you think of your latest performances?
Pretty good overall. Just on the big solo [sur Comme ils disent, de Charles Aznavour]I tell myself that it could have been better. It's a personal feeling, it's the demand that I place on myself perhaps. I tell myself that I could have given more.
Did you expect to leave?
Yes. I had a 50/50 chance of leaving, so I had prepared myself psychologically for this scenario. When the results were announced, at the time, I just accepted.
Marine and Ebony's dads supported you also. Did they say anything to you after the prime?
No, I didn't really get to talk to them. Marine's dad was right behind me, so I just went up to say goodbye. Ebony's dad was at the other end of the studio, so I couldn't cross him. I haven't had the chance to see it yet.
We have the impression that at some point during the adventure, you lost confidence in yourself. For what reason?
I think we had reached a stage in the adventure where I had to offer something other than what I had been offering from the beginning. From the start, I offered pretty much the same thing and it worked for me, which meant that I didn't necessarily get constructive feedback at the start of the adventure. At one point, it was good, but I had to give more and I didn't know what that more could be, given that I hadn't had any feedback before that. It made me feel a little bad.
You were often in the Top 3 but, unfortunately, the teachers never chose you. Did this also contribute to this lack of confidence?
Not winning the top 3 did not undermine my morale during the adventure. But it left me with a bitter taste compared to the top 3 battle itself. I dreaded them, it was a stressful, almost humiliating moment. I couldn't wait for it to pass.
Have you ever thought about dropping out of the Top 3?
-I thought about it at first, but I still held out out of respect at least for the people who work behind the show. I don't remember what prime it was, but it was the top 3 where we sang I'm sickwith Ebony and Charles.
What was the trigger for getting back on track?
I had a conversation with Malika [Benjelloun] at the end of a dance class, before the start of the tour. I also had a little chat with Julien from last season. It really helped to lift my spirits and get my head above water.
Some candidates confided that this adventure was physically and mentally demanding. Was this also the case for you?
Physically, it was fine. I got sick for a while, but I was okay. It oscillated more mentally. But once I got back on track, after the week of the tour, things went pretty smoothly.
What was the most difficult thing for you in this adventure?
I think it was my quest for more. When I was asked for more, I didn't know what was needed, so searching for it was complicated.
What did this adventure teach you?
That sometimes you have to let yourself go, allow yourself to be yourself.
Who do you see winning the adventure?
So who do I see winning? I don't know. But it's true that I lean a little more towards Ebony, even if I love them both and they both fully deserve to win the Star Academy. They have huge voices and worked their butts off, so they deserve a lot of credit. The decision is up to the public in all cases.
