Snoop Dogg has responded to the barrage of criticism he received from many fans and colleagues after attending the Crypto Ball leading up to Donald Trump’s inauguration as president on January 20.
The rapper headlined the event held in Washington DC on January 17, in front of an audience of celebrities and politicians.

The spectacle was organized to show the president-elect’s support for cryptocurrencies and confirm his promise to integrate bitcoin into the country’s financial systems.
And the shock was total for part of the public to discover Snoop Dogg singing at this event.
Result, the publication on Instagram of an extract of his performance during the evening, where he performed Nuthin’ but a G Thangcost him a backlash with serious consequences.
Many comments under his posts reveal the “disappointment” of his fans after the show, and the rapper has already lost a number of subscribers.
“This is culturally embarrassing and disrespectful,” one user wrote on social media. “Even Snoop Dogg bent the knee to Donald Trump. I never thought I would see this one day,” posted another.
The singer of Drop It Like It’s Hot has since responded to the criticism by posting a video of another artist at the event, Rick Ross, reveling in the evening with a photo of himself giving a peace sign and a smile.

In 2017, he released a video for his song Lavenderwhich showed him pointing a gun at a clown dressed as Donald Trump. He is also seen pulling the trigger to bring up a red flag with the word BANG. Donald Trump reacted to the clip by saying that Snoop Dogg should be arrested.
An old video of the singer on Instagram promising to “grill” the artists who would perform for the elected Republican has also resurfaced, notably on the social networks of actress Amanda Seales.
“I hope it’s worth it,” she commented wryly, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Other similar images were also shared online.
The rapper, however, changed his tune last year, praising Donald Trump who “has only done great things” for him.
The presence of Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, could also be partly explained by the rapper’s great interest and investments in cryptocurrency projects over the past two years, as reported CNBC.
