Within the Beatles, drummer Ringo Starr was never a great singer or songwriter. Which didn’t stop him from singing on the tracks “Yellow Submarine” and “With A Little Help From My Friends” and writing the hit “Octopus’s Garden”. Born Richard Starkey on July 7, 1940 in Liverpool, Ringo Starr left his factory job at an early age to become a musician. He then took his stage name: Ringo Starr. As a solo artist, he has released 22 albums since the end of the Beatles in 1970. Apart from his career in music, he has also distinguished himself as an actor, notably in films such as Candy (1968) or The Caveman (1981).
