Aya Nakamura on the bill for the Yellow Pieces gala. This Thursday, January 23, the largest hall in Europe, Paris La Défense Arena, will become the scene of an exceptional concert which will aim to raise funds to improve the daily lives of hospitalized children. Aya Nakamura will be alongside Katy Perry, John Legend, pianist Lang Lang and Gims. The evening will be broadcast on Tuesday January 28 on France 2.
The singer, who has two daughters, is very involved in an association that helps hospitalized children. He has been known to go on gift distribution tours or make surprise visits to families whose children are disabled. The singer also donated a lot of money to an orphanage in her hometown of Bamako in Mali. It is therefore not surprising that she agreed to participate in this charity concert as part of the “Pièces Jaunes” operation.
She hasn’t sung again since the Olympics
This January 23 also marks his big return to the stage. Aya Nakamura has not sung again since her performance at the opening of the Olympic Gamesaccompanied by the Republican Guard on the Pont des Arts, where his refrains intermingled with those of Charles Aznavour. A streaming release of this version is also planned but we still have to wait for certain authorizations.
Since July, the singer has remained very discreet. At the end of the summer, she just spoke in a live broadcast with Internet users. “When I was asked to do the event, I didn’t even know what the Olympics were. In my head, when it was offered to me, I was like, ‘Oh, well, go for it, I’ll do it.’ But I didn’t say to myself, ‘If you do it, it’s crazy, we’re going to see you all over the world.’ I told myself, I’m going to go, I’m going to sing, it’s going to be a show, I just have to be prepared, do the show well, tack, tock, and I’m going home.”
A new album soon?
Aya Nakamura is also expected this Friday, January 24. She will perform at the U-Arena in Bercysurrounded this time not by the Republican Guard, but by basketball players as part of an NBA celebrity match. She is even the artistic director of the evening.
This year, Aya Nakamura celebrates her 30th birthday on May 10. 2025 is also the year where fans will find her, since she should release a new album. She is working on it at the moment, we should discover the first extract soon.
