These lucky people are Léo Giroux, 19 years old, from Lévis; Laurence Libersan, 18, from Vaudreuil-Dorion; Albert Asselin, 21, from Quebec; and Mia Tinayre, 16, from Quebec.

The 10 other aspiring Academicians, the faculty – Émily Bégin, Véronic DiCaire and Pierre Lapointe – as well as Director Garou took part in this energetic opening number including several other songs.

Before they pushed the note, the host of the variety, Jean-Philippe Dion, paid tribute to the lyricist Stéphane Venne, to whom we owe And it’s not over. Mr. Venne died last Friday, at the age of 83. Suffering from an incurable illness, he opted for medical assistance in dying in order to leave with dignity.
