The Grand Ducal police carried out a large-scale check in the Gare district of the capital on Thursday afternoon, they said this Friday afternoon. The operation targeted drug crime as well as illegal immigration. During this check, which mobilized 30 police officers and two drug detection dogs, 24 people were checked.
About 7 grams of cocaine were found on one person, authorities said. A CT scan followed, which detected seven foreign bodies. The suspect was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and presented to an investigating judge this Friday morning.
In addition, a little more than 21 g of hashish were seized from another person and a little more than 17 g from a third. Finally, around 2 g of cocaine were found on one. In these three cases, a report was drawn up for violations of drug legislation.
