By exceeding the 530,000 euros prize pool – he pocketed 538,000 –, Benoît became the greatest maestro of “Don’t forget the words” on Saturday. He thus broke the record that Margaux had held in the France 2 musical game for almost five years…
As our colleagues at PureMédias point out, the thirty-year-old candidate can also be proud of being the one with the greatest number of victories, 79 to date, or nearly fifteen more than his runner-up, Louis, who stopped to 65 victories in March 2023.
“I wouldn’t have bet on myself”
Interviewed by the site specializing in media news, Benoît confided that such a performance seemed “totally inaccessible” to him. “I absolutely wouldn’t have bet on myself initially. I’m still quite proud, honestly, because I really struggled to get this far anyway. In terms of fatigue, it was really difficult to hold on. On endurance, I am most proud. I discovered myself in that aspect,” he added.
The candidate, who has appeared since December 2, in the show presented by Nagui, is on his second participation, after a first appearance, much briefer, in 2023. In the meantime, he has, according to him, learned more of 1,000 songs. His efforts have clearly paid off.
